It's been over a year since I created Tea Leaf and started playing Pet Society, and I feel as though my love for it is as strong as when I started. A lot has changed on Pet Society since early 2009. I'm liking all the changes-- so much that I'm finding myself spending even more time playing the game! I thought I'd share my current Pet Society adventures on Vox, starting with a little update some of Tea Leaf's most recent outfits.
As you can see, Tea Leaf has formed a more distinct style that consists mostly of pastels, especially pink. A lot of her wardrobe changes are due to the fact that so many more cute items have been released in the past few months. I started noticing changes in the way Pet Society was being managed and the items that were being released at the end of 2009. After commenting about the changes on Facebook, a friend of mine let me know that Playfish (the company who runs the application) was bought by Electronic Arts. Ever since then, it seems as though my overall gaming experience has drastically changed-- for the better! Not only are the items cuter, but everything in the application design-wise seems more cohesive. The application even runs more smoothly as I jump from room to room in a pet's house
I've noticed that a lot of the changes being made are making the game lean more towards the feminine side of style. A lot more pink, cutesy items are being released, along with more pastel items. While Easter may have affected the color palettes being used, I think Pet Society fans will continue to see a lot more girly items released in the future. And I can understand why-- from what I've seen, the majority of my friends list is made up of female players with female pets, so I guess the changes are being catered to that audience. Personally, I'm finding these changes fantastic for Tea Leaf because she's a true girly girl at heart, which can be seen by both her wardrobe and her house.
As Tea Leaf's wardrobe has become more consistently sweet and pink, so has her house! Instead of every single room looking completely different from the next, I've created a very solid "house of confectionery goodness." (I just came up with that now, haha.) At the moment, the bottom level is my favorite. The main room is Tea Leaf's Candy Wonderland Room. I started designing it around the holidays (which is why there's a Christmas tree there) and it's remained my favorite room ever since then. I've been filling it with lots of candy, bunnies, kitties, and cute things. The color scheme is pink, blue and purple. The next room is Tea Leaf's Plushie Showcase Room. It displays a large chunk of her plushie collection, although not all of the plushies are in it right now. I recently added one of my favorite items on Pet Society: an animated carousel! <3 The third room is Tea Leaf's Bakery. It's filled from top to bottom with desserts, candies, and everything sweet-- including more plushies. My favorite items in this room would have to be the glass case filled with yummy desserts and the chocolate fountain on the right side of the room.
The rest of the house is more complete than I thought it would be. I've been spending a lot of time perfecting each and every room. Right now, I'm working on Tea Leaf's Cherry Blossom Tea & Sushi Room. ^__~
Besides the changes in the house and clothing items, there have been other additions to the application. Pets can now have their own pets called "petlings." After a few days of feeding the petlings, they start growing into bigger petlings. When they were first introduced, I had the option of getting kitties or dogs. New petlings have been added since then: lions, tigers, coyotes, and lambs. I immediately bought a kitty for Tea Leaf when they were released. I named her Hopia after one of my favorite filipino foods. I then bought a lamb and named her Saccharine, which means "overly sweet." Both names seem so fitting for Tea Leaf's newly remodeled house. I'm crossing my fingers for a hammy petling someday!
I've received so many wonderful gifts from my friends on Facebook. Tea Leaf's house would not be what it is today without their help. <3 I've been trying to pay it forward by gifting friends items every now and then. I have so much fun picking out presents and the wrapping for people.
And again, to anyone who is reading my blog for the first time: feel free to add me on Facebook if you want to be friends on Pet Society. You'll need to include a note in the friend request telling me how you know me though; I rarely ever accept requests from people who I don't know or don't have any connections with on Facebook. Here's my address:
O.M,G!.... not more games on face book I am past my limit on games but it dose look cute...
I might have to take a look at it but I got to cut out some of the games I am already playing too many helping out friends kids in there games! But I have to admit there are a lot of fun and cute games to play on facebook....Hope your enjoying yourself

Pet Society is extremely cute and it's getting cuter by the week as new items/features are released. It's so addictive. ^____^
I know what you mean when you talk about limiting the number of online games you're playing. I do the same thing. A lot of my friends play other games, like Restaurant City and PetVille... They all look really great but I found that I have more fun if I limit myself to two games at a time. Right now, I'm focusing on Pet Society and Gaia (which is more of a community than a game).
It's so nice that you're helping out your friends' kids by playing the games on Facebook. I friended a few of my friends' parents because they needed friends for games like Pet Society. It's cool how everyone can help each other out like that. ^^

[this is good] Hopia! Teehee. It's my mother's fave too, though I think it's actually a Chinese delicacy. Is it the pastry with sweet beans inside? Anyway, I always looooooove visiting Tea Leaf. My fave room is the Plushie Showcase room. I'm still working on my house, and it's way too embarassing to showcase it on my blog yet...but maybe someday. I already collected a bunch of little knick knacks on my chest, the special ones? Oh well. I have to earn more coins! RAWR!

Hee hee, my favorite games are Yoville and Pet Society. I always swore I wasn't going to get into any more games, but facebook sucks you in. I love both Yoville and Pet Society still, though many people tend to ignore the older games in favor of the newest and latest. I like that you can send gifts on Pet Society now. I got a ton of plushies, but I can always sell the excess ones for more coins. I think the pig ones are so cute. I need to do a post on Lilac, though it'll probably be on LJ. I don't hardly use Vox anymore. I just can't keep up with posting in 2 blogs. If only they had an auto import rather than manual for LJ.

Ahh, I love coming across other people who love hopia, or who are even just familiar with it. ^__^ Yup, it's a delicious sweet bean treat, one of my favorite Filipino foods. All of my dad's relatives always have it at their houses and my dad always brings it back when he visits them. And actually, hopia is a Filipino food, but it uses Chinese puff pastry! I've done research on it before and I've talked to my dad about it. You can read about it here. <3
Tea Leaf must love it when Cheri visits her and I know I have fun visiting Cheri's house. No worries, it took a while for me to feel like my house was really coming along. That proud feeling will hit you all of a sudden and it's great! Just keep working at it. ^u^

YoVille looks super cute, too. ^^ I'd totally get into other games like that but I have to limit how many things I play! I tend to devote a lot of time to everything I'm obsessed with and I know I would never step away from my computer if I started more, haha.
Sending gifts on Pet Society is a real treat. I get this great sense of satisfaction whenever I pick out a new present for a friend, even with these new free gifts. I haven't even tried to sell any of my excess plushies yet-- that's a great idea. xD And yeah, the piggy plushies are adorable!
I'll have to check LJ more often for when you post about Lilac. <3 I had been using LJ for a while because it was quieter there, and less busy for me. Lately, I've been feeling like reaching out to people more so I came back to Vox. I'm exactly like you and can't post in two blogs all the time. Hopefully someday they'll implement that import you mentioned.

Yeah, you are right to say away from other games. Yoville has new enchanted items and I spend time decorating at both my facebook and MySpace places. I'lll try to post about Lilac soon, but you would already know her current look and stuff anyway. She also has that latest wig...it is SO cute!
Posted by: Pixie Wildflower | April 15, 2010 at 01:08 PM
Oh my gosh, the newest wig is amazing! It's definitely my favorite of the current wigs. Most of the wigs didn't look very good on Tea Leaf so I was happy that this anime one was released. ^u^ Lilac is SO cute in it.
Oopsie, I just noticed I was saying Lilac instead of Violet... xD I kept thinking of "purple flower" so Lilac and Violet are both perfectly fitting, haha!
Posted by: Lauren | April 15, 2010 at 01:44 PM
Well, I am the one that said Lilac first and you know what, I do have a pet named Lilac in Petville. I get them mixed up all the time. Yes, they are both names for Purple, which I love.
Posted by: Pixie Wildflower | April 15, 2010 at 05:14 PM
Whew, now I don't feel like I mixed up the name! ^^; Wow, Lilac and Violet are such pretty names together... Too bad your two purple cuties can't meet somehow, tee hee.

Hmmmm.....maybe they can...this is a cut and paste world!

Whoa, I've never realized it, not until now, because all of the stores that sell Hopia are Chinese! Lols, And it's even funnier that the best ones I've tried so far are from stores named Po-land and Holland. Haha.
Have you tried taho yet? It's the perfect combination with Hopia (well, for my mother and I at least). It's also quite Chinese-ish that have been adapted into Filipino flavor. :D
That's reassuring, because I'm really working hard on Cheri's home! I really want it to be homey espescially for her. Teehee. >.<
