I know my last entry was going to be my goodbye-for-six-days entry but...
Let's face it: Wisconsin has no good attractions in it. There are no good restaurants, hangouts or stores that would make it a worthy place to go for vacation to. You would figure that California would be different, right? Well, it is but it isn't. I just just looked up a bunch of stores that I remember having all the hobbies I love: Blythe dolls, BJD's, vinyl figures, etc... and guess what? All of them are located in Los Angeles or San Francisco, not at all near San Diego. Because Beth and I won't have the right transportation to get from city to city, there's no way that we'll be able to get to those places. So basically, I'm going across the country to visit a new place and I'm still going to be cut off from the things would make my vacation perfect.
Oh, and even better... I just found out that Simone Legno is going to be in Los Angeles THIS weekend at a store called Terra. That means they'll most likely be carrying Tokidoki merchandise too-- and I can't even see him or go to a place I like to call HEAVEN.
Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about going and I'm not trying to complain. I've never really been on a real vacation before so this is a big letdown at the last minute. It's just so unfair that I get so close and yet so far away to what I really want to see and do. Argh!
Added: Oh kay. I've cooled down since I originally posted this. I think I was just stressed out with packing and all the stuff I had to get done. I feel better now! Patience is a virtue. <3 Anyway, I'll miss everyone... have a good week. ^____^
I saw the advert for Simone's appearance at Terra. I so completely wish I was in California/L.A. this weekend. *sob* I saw the pictures from his Santa Monica appearance at Kid Robot! They had lots of Tokidoki merch and he signed things and everything. I'm so jealous.

Aw, that is a let down - but at least you're going on vacation and you'll be in the ocean and... yeah, I wish I could take a vacation right now! Have fun, even if some parts of it haven't turned out the way you would have liked them to.

Zannah- I feel your pain! I'm so disappointed that I'll literally be a few hours away from him instead of thousands of miles. The thing I want most right now is something Tokidoki that I can't find online. (-_-) I hope that one day we each get to experience what it's like to be in the presence of Simone!
Fire- Thank you. ^_^ That's definitely what I plan on doing. I think just being near the ocean should be a good enough present for me. I think it'll be great. Thanks, hon!

When i lived in SD i found myself missing the midwest most of the time. I could never adjust to California Cuisine and yes, it's basicall all the same stores you have everywhere else only it's tons more crowded and more expensive. The redeeming factors are the weather and of course the ocean. Geez, i can't believe you're dissing the land of our beloved Brookfield Square and Gilles Ice Cream. Another great thing about SD is the music scene, everyone comes there, i saw more bands in a months time than i had in years. You're gonna love it for the ocean though.

It is sad a big city like San Diego doesn't have that kind of stuff. *hugs*

Milwaukee has The Safe House, which is almost reason enough to visit the city.
Try comics and gaming shops. San Diego has a plethora, since the Geek Prom aka Comicon is held there annually.Posted by: Captain Wulf | August 17, 2006 at 05:26 PM
Ive never been to Milwaukee, i might like to go to to just sample cheese's. San Diego is great, theres tons to do and they have the cutest kawaii shoppes there too. Plus the beaches are the best!!! I hope you have a great trip and you find some of the things you love to make it an even better trip.

aww, i'm sorry you and have no way of making it up to l.a. ironically, i received an invitation in the mail today from the lesportsac store at the beverly center inviting me to a sneak peek of the new tokidoki fall 2006 line. the new line isn't up on the lesportsac site yet, but she described it as having a cityscape in the background. no new qees either. hmph. products go on sale to the public on the 24th.

Thanks everyone! I think it should be fun. Ironically, as soon as we arrived and Kathryn found out that I wanted to go to L.A. she said we could all go. So now I get to go and meet Simone and hopefully buy some Tokidoki stuff. I'm barely breathing, I'm so excited. <3

Where do you buy these lovely dolls at sweetie?

Which dolls? The one I have in this entry? I bought this Tokidoki figure at an online store: www.myplasticheart.com
This one is about 6-8 inches tall. Vinyl figures range in sizes though. I think this one, called Sabochan, was about $30.00 and then shipping. They're expensive but I see them as art pieces so... that helps rationalize all the money I spend on vinyl figures, haha.
